Water Year Rainfall
A new water year begins October 1. In agricultural terms (especially in the West), this is the time of year when the rivers are at their lowest and the mountains are ready to begin accumulating snow - thereby "banking" frozen water until the spring where it will melt and fill the rivers - supplying water for the next growing season. The graphic below reports accumulated rainfall for this weather station.
